What is pH?
The term pH, which is a unit of measurement, is used to describe the level of alkalinity or acidity of a solution. The pH value of any substance is directly related to the ratio of the concentration of hydrogen ions to hydroxide ions. In short, if the concentration of hydrogen ions is greater than the concentration of hydroxide ions, this means that the solution is acidic. The acidic nature of the solution indicates that the value is below 7. Conversely, if the concentration of hydroxide ions is greater than the concentration of hydrogen ions, then the substance becomes basic, meaning that its pH value is above 7. If it is said that both ion concentrations are equal, then it can be stated that the pH of the substance is 7. This situation also means neutral. The expansion of pH is; Latin ''potentia hydrojenii'', meaning 'Power of Hydrogen'. This concept was first used in the early 20th century.

What Should Be The pH Of Water?
Based on this information, it should be known about the pH value of water that; water can be acidic, basic or neutral. It is not correct to claim that water in any condition is healthier or more reliable. As a general perception, it is just a misconception that the higher the pH value of water, the healthier the product is. The ideal pH value range for bottled water should be between 4.5 and 9.5 according to Regulation on Waters for Human Consumption (İnsani Tüketim Amaçlı Sular Hakkındaki Yönetmelik).
