Our History
100+ years of deep-rooted history, uninterrupted quality
Vakıf Taşdelen, formerly known as Taşdelen Spring Water, endowed in 1582 by Afife Nurbanu Sultan, has a history of use stretching back even further.

Afife Nurbanu Sultan
The history of Vakıf Taşdelen water, which brings water to us in glass bottles and carboys in its most natural form, goes back a very long time. Endowed in 1582 by Afife Nurbanu Sultan, wife of Sultan Selim II, it has been loved by the Turkish people for centuries. It is widely believed beneficial for various ailments, especially for passing kidney stones, as well as for its taste and softness with a hardness degree of 1.1.
Vakıf Taşdelen is still among the best waters in the world today. Its quality superiority will last throughout the life of the spring. The water loaded on the pilgrimage convoy setting out from Istanbul for Hajj was generally Taşdelen water — because Zamzam water was filled into these jugs on the return from Hajj, it earned the compliment of companion of Zamzam.

Sultan II. Abdülhamid Han
The water used and recommended by Sultan Abdülhamid II was Vakıf Taşdelen Natural Spring Water. In 1889, the privilege of bottling and selling it in Istanbul was granted by the Treasury of the Privy Purse. In 1897, the Treasury permitted it to be placed under monopoly to protect the interests of the public.
During the events of 31 March, when Sultan Abdülhamid II was dethroned on 27 April 1909 and sent to Thessaloniki, his last wish at Sirkeci railway station was a glass of Taşdelen Water — causing the train to depart 1 hour and 50 minutes past midnight. The Sultan gave 30 kuruş tip to the child who brought the water.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
Atatürk drank Vakıf Taşdelen Natural Spring Water for a long time. The factory infrastructure and modernisation was carried out by a decree dated 1 May 1932, signed by President Gazi Mustafa Kemal and the Council of Ministers. A decree dated 12 July 1937 invested in increasing the factory capacity, bearing the signatures of President K. Atatürk, Prime Minister İsmet İnönü and the Council of Ministers.
As understood from the book Son Nöbet Defteri, prepared using two notebooks from the private archive of former President Celal Bayar, Taşdelen Water was written in Atatürk's prescription alongside regular water — indicating that Taşdelen water was used medicinally.
Natural Spring Water
Vakıf Taşdelen Natural Spring Water rises to the surface on its own from 220 metres depth, without any drilling, on an 800,000 m² spring site within Taşdelen Forests. There is no pipeline between source and factory — filling is carried out at the source itself. Purity is controlled from the point it first emerges to when it reaches the consumer.
Filling is carried out in modern machines without human touch, to the highest hygiene standards, in accordance with the regulation on waters intended for human consumption.
